Recently, Mandarin Excellence Programme Intensive Study in China has been concluding across different parts of the country, covering a total of 10 cities, namely, Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Xi'an, Hangzhou, Dalian, Shenyang, Kunming, and Chengdu. Nearly 1,200 students from 61 schools across England participated in the program.
The successful hosting of the MEP summer camp has presented an objective and real China to British students, allowing them to genuinely experience the charm of China, and providing each participant with a deeper understanding of China.
During the study, the British students learned Chinese and experienced Chinese culture, such as calligraphy, traditional painting, tea, and hanfu. They also made friends and played games with local Chinese teenagers. This program not only fostered friendly exchanges between young people from both countries but also provided fertile ground for the seeds of friendship between China and the UK.
