Twelve international students from Shanghai University recently participated in the finals of Shanghai's Jiuzi Game Competition that featured various traditional Chinese folk games.

The students competed with other foreign game enthusiasts and locals in the top spinning and hoop rolling games and also experienced other games such as playing marbles, kongzhu (Chinese yo-yo) and rope jumping with surrounding residents in a sideline activity in Jiuzi Park.

One of the international students, Bashir Ahmed Jatoi from Pakistan, won second place in the top spinning game competition, becoming the only award-winning foreign participant in the event.

According to Shanghai University, this event not only provided a fun and memorable experience for the international students but also allowed them to immerse themselves in the lives of local residents, get a taste of the unique charm of Shanghai's traditional culture, and gain a deeper understanding of Chinese culture and traditions.

Sanskritii Rimal from Nepal said she was impressed by the energy and flexibility of the senior participants and praised the efforts of the young volunteers in preserving traditional cultural heritage.

Mohammad Hashem Mohammadi from Afghanistan said he played all of the nine kinds of traditional games in the activity and had a fun experience. He added that he is looking forward to participating in more activities like this in the future.
