From the warm embrace of Costa Rica, Montealegre Carvajal Edwin Roberto felt an unexpected pull to the vibrant beat of Shanghai. It started as a suggestion from his professor and solidified when he won the Chinese government scholarship. Soon, the scenic Bund from his computer wallpaper transformed into the very ground beneath his feet, leaving him in awe of the city's grandeur. Now, he is studying choral conducting at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music.

While the tourist attractions caught his initial attention, it was the opera houses, concert halls, and the legendary performances that truly captivated his heart. In Shanghai, he not only found an introduction to musical greats like the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra and maestros like Liao Changyong but also a platform to express himself. As the director and conductor of "The Voice of the World Choir," he blends the rich music cultures of the world, especially China's, into harmonious symphonies.

Now, Shanghai isn't just a city to him; it's a canvas of dreams, aspirations, and melodies. With hope in his heart, he aspires to etch his legacy on the podium of the Shanghai Symphony Hall.
