Participants of the 2023 Tongji University-Kyung Hee University Chinese summer camp recently visited the China Maritime Museum in Shanghai.

The China Maritime Museum, one of the largest maritime museums in the world, showcases the rich maritime heritage of China with a diverse collection of exhibits, including ancient maps, ship models, artifacts from shipwrecks, historical documents, and interactive displays.

At the museum, the students leaned about marine knowledge, maritime history and development of China, and the evolution of ships, which helped them understand the significance of the sea to China's past, present, and future.

They also saw the "Treasures of the Sea: Photo Exhibition of Fine Cultural Relics from the National Museum of South Korea", which is being held by the National Maritime Museum of South Korea in Busan and the China Maritime Museum in Shanghai to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of sister-city ties between Shanghai and Busan.

Two students from Busan said they didn't expect that they could gain a deeper understanding of their own country and its history from a fresh perspective during their journey of learning Chinese.
