A group of 26 international students hailing from 17 countries across Asia, Africa, and Europe, who are currently pursuing their studies at Jiangsu University of Technology, embarked on a captivating journey to the Sidun site in Changzhou city, East China's Jiangsu province, on July 5.

The purpose of their visit was to immerse themselves in the remnants of China's late Neolithic period, specifically the relics of Songze culture and Liangzhu culture. They partook in a range of engaging activities, including field investigations, visits to artifact restoration workshops, bilingual guided tours, and enlightening cultural exchanges. Through these profound experiences, they gained a profound appreciation of China’s heritage, which spans an impressive five millennia.

Ferima Nadia Toby Kone, a 2020 student from Cote d'Ivoire pursuing a degree in International Economics and Trade, expressed her astonishment, exclaiming, "During my time here, I have encountered Chinese utensils, tools, and cultural aspects that bear striking resemblance to those of our own homeland. I am genuinely taken aback. Despite the geographical distance that separates our nations, we can still discover commonalities that unite us."

Sassy Budi Salim, an Indonesian student specializing in International Economics and Trade, shared her contemplations, stating, "Though people may come from diverse corners of the globe, the human heart knows no boundaries. Hearts and cultures possess the remarkable ability to comprehend and connect with one another. We can take pride in our respective cultures while simultaneously being deeply moved by the allure of Chinese culture."

The fusion of and interaction between diverse cultures among Chinese and international students has emerged as catalysts for promoting cultural exchange, mutual learning, and bolstering the international influence of Chinese culture. On July 4, a group of international students pursuing master's degrees in Audit at Nanjing Audit University received words of encouragement to strengthen their interactions and mutual learning with their Chinese counterparts.

This heartfelt letter exemplifies the sincere compassion and profound aspirations of the Party Central Committee towards international students in China, underscoring the Chinese government's recognition of education's pivotal role in forging a shared destiny for all of humanity. Furthermore, it serves as a guiding beacon for the advancement of international student programs in the new era.
