Shanghai Ocean University recently received the Excellent Organization Award at the launch ceremony of a series of activities for international students studying in Shanghai based around "My Beautiful Encounter with China", which was held by the Ministry of Education in Beijing.
Liberian student Lavall Jr Christopher Augustus from the School of Engineering of Shanghai Ocean University won the Short Video Excellence Award in the "My Beautiful Encounter with China" Essay and Short Video Competition. Over 700 international students studying in China from more 100 countries participated in the competition and 29 short videos won the honor of Excellence.
During the launch ceremony, "Letter from Spring", a music video presented by international students studying in China, debuted. With the theme of "Spring", it shows the moving scenes of Chinese and foreign students getting together again and continuing their friendship after the COVID-19 epidemic. The musical performances were also performed on site at the ceremony.
Two Uzbek students from Shanghai Ocean University, Umidjon Mannapov and Kenjaeva Rukhsora, recorded and sang the music video. They said that by being a part of the student choir, they met and made friends with many students from other countries.
Shanghai Ocean University has always attached great importance to educating international students, encourages them to share their study life and stories about China and promote Sino-foreign friendship through words and songs.
