[Republic of Korea] Lee Mujige, Beijing Foreign Studies University

I am an international student from South Korea. Whenever I introduced myself as an international student, people would think that I came to China not long ago. But in fact, I have been in China for 15 years. I came to China when I was 7, and China has long been my second hometown in my heart. During these years, I grow up in China, and at the same time also witness the growth and development of China.

Novelty of Live Shopping

In recent years, I have seen a variety of innovations in China, among which I am particularly impressed by the fresh industry live commerce. It has grown rapidly since its birth, and has gradually been widely accepted and recognized as one of the mainstream means of shopping, which is even well ahead of the rest of the world.

In China, more and more young people are choosing to shop by watching live commerce. When shopping on the Internet, customers are most worried about the discrepancies between the goods they get and the goods they see online. But the advantage with live commerce is that customers can see the actual appearance of the goods through the live stream platform.

Through live commerce, customers not only do not have to worry about the discrepancies between the buyer and the seller, but can also communicate directly with the anchor via the live platform, which will be able to quickly answer many questions customers have about the goods.

The emergence of live commerce has not only brought about a new way of shopping, but has also brought more new career options. Live commerce is just one area of China’s innovative industries, but from this one area, the huge progress China’s innovative industries have made can be seen. I believe that as time goes by the live commerce will continue to innovate, and that better innovations and changes will be made in other industries in China.

My family and I have chosen to continue to live in China because we have seen the potential of China’s development in various industries. I hope to see more innovations in the future, and I also believe that China has the strength to create more innovations.

Sense of Warmth in Assisting Agriculture and Fishery

In recent years, the Chinese government has launched a series of measures to help agriculture and fishery. One of the means of assistance is live commerce, which has not only become popular among young people, but has actually helped the farmers sell their produce.

On live commerce platforms, you can see many farmers and fishermen selling their produce, as well as many celebrity anchors that are promoting the sale of goods through their own influence. In the consumers’ view, it is a great shopping experience to be able to directly buy from the farmers and the fishermen. First of all, whether it is agricultural products cultivated by the farmers themselves or seafood caught by the fishermen themselves, everyone will think the produce is fresher and tastier.

Secondly, both sides are free from the middlemen who earn their profits through differences in prices. For consumers, the price of goods will become lower; and for farmers and fishermen, their income will be higher. There is deep care and warmth behind the policy of helping farmers and fishermen through new technical means. Those who get helped are not only farmers and fishermen, but also consumers and live commerce platforms. I am glad to be involved in it and also willing to witness the results of assisting agriculture and fishery.

Sense of Security in the Prevention and Fight Against COVID-19

It has been more than two years since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. From the sudden and unexpected outbreak to the recovery of stability, I have a deep feeling for the Chinese government’s preventive measures.

At the beginning of 2020, when there had been no outbreak of COVID-19 in some other parts of the world, my family thought about returning to Korea. But during the 15 years we lived in China, it has given us a great sense of security. We were confident that China would soon be able to control the pandemic. At the beginning of the pandemic, the Chinese government took decisive measures and brought the pandemic under control in a short period of time. What impressed me most was the building of the Huoshenshan Hospital.

It took the Chinese workers only ten days to complete the 1,000-bed hospital! This kind of speed can only be achieved by China; this kind of miracle can only be done by China. This is also why China was able to make me feel safe in the early days of the pandemic.

The emergence of the health code made me feel more of the Chinese government’s sense of responsibility. The health code can be used not only by Chinese people, but also by foreigners living in China, which also makes me feel that the Chinese government is responsible not only for its own people, but also for foreigners in China. With the help of health code, everyone living in China can check the infected sites and the patient’s travel points anytime, anywhere. This measure has successfully allowed us to avoid unnecessary contact, thus protecting us from getting infected by the virus.Although the pandemic is not over and our school is still only able to teach online, I believe that no matter where in China, the Chinese government and people can successfully fight and prevent the epidemic through continuous efforts and cooperation.

Instead of leaving China when the outbreak occurred, my family chose to stay and continue to live here. Now it seems that I have made the right choice. I believe that through the joint efforts of the Chinese government and its people, the epidemic will end soon and a better life will be ushered in. I have witnessed the transformation of China in the past 15 years, and I am willing to accompany China to continue its growth!During the years I lived in China, China has made me feel fresh, warm and secure. I hope to have more feelings and witness more of China’s growth and progress in the days to come!
