The "Chinese Tour" online Chinese program held by the Global Education Center of East China Normal University (ECNU) during the winter break recently came to an end.

The program organized a four-week Chinese language and culture learning trip for foreign students. In the Chinese language classes, students learned vocabulary and grammar by talking about topics including happiness, education, travel, hobbies, habits and shopping. Teachers also prepared lessons on Chinese New Year customs, Chinese films and television dramas, and Shanghai's local culture to enhance their understanding of Chinese culture.

The program also provided a cross-cultural platform for the participants by holding various activities. On Feb 15, the students attended the ECNU Youth Talk with the theme of My Perspective of "Generation Z" and exchanged their views.

"I felt very good when I participated in ECNU's summer program for the first time last year, so I participated in this year's winter program. I was very happy to meet Teacher Xu, again. I think the characteristics of ECNU's Chinese programs are that teachers carefully and patiently teach us how to use new words and grammar, which makes it easy for us to understand and the process of learning Chinese is very interesting. Through the programs we can unconsciously improve our Chinese level," said a student from Japan.

"Before participating in this program, both reading Chinese and speaking Chinese made me nervous. But this time, I finally overcame such difficulties thanks to powerful Teacher Xu and my classmates. I will continue to study, and I will definitely participate again next winter break," said a student from the United States.
