Shanghai has a prominent advantage in the number of top subjects set in universities, according to the 2022 Best Chinese Subjects Ranking released by Shanghai Ranking, an evaluation institute that specializes in higher education.
The ranking for the best subjects in China includes five index categories: talent training, scientific research projects, achievement awards, academic papers and academic talents.
The rankings include 96 first-level subjects such as philosophy, economics and law in 484 universities throughout China.
The number of the best subjects in Shanghai reached 34, making it one of the top provincial regions with the most outstanding subjects set in universities.
