Shanghai University international students celebrated China's Lantern Festival on Feb 5 by experiencing all kinds of traditions in the activities organized by the university's College of International Education.

The Lantern Festival, which falls on the 15th day of the first lunar month, marks the end of Spring Festival celebrations.

The activities included making lanterns, rolling iron hoops, playing the ancient Chinese game touhu – throwing arrows into wine pitchers, and eating yuanxiao, which are sweet glutinous rice dumplings Chinese people usually eat during the festival.

"I like Chinese traditional culture very much. Today I experienced several Lantern Festival folk games at Shanghai University, which made me learn a lot of new things," said a student from Thailand.
