Foreign students from universities in Shanghai won multiple prizes at the 2022 "Poetic China" Chinese Poetry Interpretation Contest, which was part of the fourth Chinese Classics Recitation, Writing and Speech Contest.

South Korean student Yin Huiran from Shanghai Normal University won first prize in the finals under the guidance of her teacher Liu Chunguang.

According to Shanghai Normal University, it was the first time that international students from the university have made it to the finals and won the first prize in the contest. The university became the only one in East China to win the top prize in this contest.

Vietnamese student Ha Ngan Thi and Iraqi student Iman Mohammed Jaber Al Kalthoom from Shanghai International Studies University won second prizes under the guidance of their teacher Li Qianping.

The contest attracted international students from across China to participate and only 15 students made it to the national final. The contestants gave speeches on the topic of "the ancient poem that influenced me the most" and interpreted it from their own perspectives.
