Five international students from Shanghai University attended the opening ceremony of the "A Tale of Two Cities • From Shanghai to Alexandria" Photo Exhibition at the Shanghai Art Collection Museum on Dec 3.

The exhibition, which runs from Dec 3 to 31, displays nearly 100 works of photography, which showcase landmarks, culture and art, and natural features and lifestyles of Shanghai and Alexandria, Egypt. It is being held in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the sister-city relationship between Shanghai and Alexandria.

One of the five students, Abusamak from Egypt, said she felt honored to witness the opening of the exhibition that marks 30 years of friendly ties between Shanghai and Alexandria.

The exhibition enables international students to learn more about Shanghai and Alexandria and their friendly relations. Lim Hokeang from Cambodia, who majors in urban planning, said he discovered the beauty of the two places through the photographs.

Shanghai University works closely with universities in Alexandria. In 2019, Shanghai University and Alexandria University jointly held the first China-Egypt International Summer Camp. In 2020, the two sides organized an online seminar on crisis management during the COVID-19 outbreak, and in the same year, Shanghai University organized an online summer program, which attracted 90 teachers and students from Egypt to participate in the event.
