East China Normal University (ECNU) in Shanghai recently opened two Chinese programs at the start of the spring semester.

They are the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship Online Program and the Business Chinese Program.

The former is an online learning scholarship program launched by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education to provide continuous learning for Chinese learners all over the world amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

This spring semester, the Global Education Center of ECNU welcomed over 360 students from more than 30 countries to join the program.

The offline Business Chinese class consists of 11 students from South Korea, the United Kingdom, France, the United States, Russia and Zambia this semester.

Students will gain professional and cultural knowledge related to business while learning Chinese, explore current social and economic topics, and develop their grasp of China's economy and society through real-life experiences.

In addition to Chinese culture courses and various lectures, the program will hold cultural exchange activities between Chinese and foreign students, such as a dubbing competition, poster design competition, short video competition, and an entrepreneurship competition, as well as an employment guidance and enterprise tour.
