A total of 16 international students from China University of Geosciences, Beijing witnessed the opening ceremony of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics on Feb 4 at the National Stadium in Beijing.
The opening day coincided with the "Beginning of Spring", which is the first of the 24 solar terms of the year.
"The opening function of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics was a complete amalgamation of splendor, art and modernity in a space of joy, hope and solidarity. I was quite astounded by the warm welcome which Chinese friends gave us as we strolled in a street filled with light and glory," said Michael Kamoto, a student from Malawi.
"This is the most beautiful Winter Olympics opening ceremony I have ever seen in the world. China surpassed world expectations and showed the world how powerful and advanced it is. If it were measured in points, I would give it a score of 1,000. I am very happy and honored to participate in such a grand event," said Lupande Felix Michone, a student from Mozambique.
