A round-table on China's journalism education during the pandemic was held by the Shanghai International Studies University (SISU) and the Communication University of China (CUC) on Dec 26.
Experts and scholars from over 20 universities attended the round-table.
They shared their views and expertise on reforms in journalism education. They said they believe that education reform during the epidemic calls for innovative thinking, highlights journalistic awareness, value cultivation and students' concept of lifelong learning and development.
Affected by the epidemic, China's journalism education confronts the issue of backward economic development, which pulls low the level of education, and restricts the recruitment of talents.
They suggested that colleges and universities should seize their influence over neighboring countries to carry out unique journalism education reforms.
Under the sponsorship of the UNESCO, the round-table is a warm-up for the upcoming 2023 World Journalism Education Congress.
