The 2021 Chinese Bridge Online Chinese Language Program for Japanese College Students, which provides a platform for Japanese youth to learn more about China, recently came to an end.
Ninety-two students from 22 universities in Japan participated in a large variety of courses about Chinese language and culture during the seven-day program.
The program, entitled "Visit Shanghai and Understand China", was hosted by Shanghai Normal University and the Center for Language Education and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education.
The curriculum of the program was divided into four parts, including Chinese language courses, national conditions lectures, cultural experience courses and exchange sessions.
A student from Ehime University said: "I am very happy to participate in this event. Although I am in Japan, the online program enabled me to learn Chinese and traditional Chinese culture, as well as Shanghai's economic and urban conditions. It was a very valuable experience for me."
A student from Kyoto University of Foreign Studies said: "The language courses are rich in content and are closely related to Chinese culture and the lives of Chinese people. I want to go to China to experience it for myself in the future. The lectures taught me about things I had never studied before. Thanks for preparing beautiful PPTs and videos with Japanese subtitles. We learned a lot."
