Intl students explore Chinese culture in Yangzhou

Thirty-six international students from 10 countries including Sudan, Pakistan, Egypt, Yemen, and Benin attended a cultural experience event in Yangzhou, Jiangsu province from Nov 5 to 12.

Held by the China Scholarship Council and Yangzhou University, the event was aimed at introducing Chinese culture to the international students.

During the event, students visited Zhuhu town in Gaoyou, traveled along the Grand Canal and enjoyed the beautiful autumn view there, and learned about the history of Gaoyou's mail.

The students also visited the Jiangdu Key Water Conversancy Project and learned about the construction of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project, as well as the water resources ecological protection efforts in Yangzhou.

At the China Grand Canal Museum, students were impressed by the rich collections in the museum and had a close look at the collections and the beauty of the Grand Canal through advanced technologies like glasses-free 3D technology.

Through the event, the international students learned about Yangzhou's governance along the Grand Canal, water ecological protection and cultural heritage innovation, and witnessed the strength and effectiveness of China's ecological civilization construction, said a manager of this event.
