From LOOI KAH YEE, a Malaysian student from BFSU.
If I were to describe what amazed me most during my years in Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU), it would be the whole environment. After coming to BFSU, I have broadened my horizon and seen the progress in all aspects of China, including the fast-changing environment and the convenience in daily life.
My Chinese teacher told me that one thing to always bear in mind with is to keep your phone charged! I never realized that the mobile phone is so important, or to be said as fundamental in our daily lives until I actually obtained the chance to blend myself into life in China.
Talking about lifestyle in BFSU, and in Beijing, everything is just so handy. The cashless society was the first and foremost impressive point when I first arrived in China. There is no longer a situation where we need to carry our wallet around and wait for the seller to give change. The advanced payment system has allowed me to travel around freely, of course, only when I have credits.
It seems like everything can be solved with a phone and a QR code. Not to be missed out, the sharing economy has as well bene ted my life a lot. Still recall my first semester studying in BFSU, we used to go to the subway station on foot and now I feel ridiculous about that.
I only started utilizing the shared bikes when I was already in my second year and I regretted not having used it earlier. There are many brands of bicycles at the gate of our university. Wherever you want to go on weekends, you could ride a bike.
