Lanzhou University builds bridges with Chinese

On September 7, a group of outstanding young students from Georgia arrived at Lanzhou University for the opening ceremony of the “Chinese Bridge” Summer Program.

Students from Tbilisi State University, Tbilisi State Academy of Arts, Tbilisi State Medical University, and the Georgian American University joined faculty and students of Lanzhou University to mark the beginning of an exciting journey of language learning and cultural exploration.

As one of the earliest universities in Gansu province to engage in international education and exchange, Lanzhou University has long been committed to cooperation with countries along the Belt and Road Initiative.

Hosting the “Chinese Bridge” program is not only a concrete action to advance high-quality cooperation with educational institutions along the Belt and Road Initiative, but also another milestone in people-to-people exchange between China and Georgia.

Over the next two weeks, the Georgian students will explore Gansu’s Lanzhou city and Xi’an city in Shaanxi province, enhancing their language skills while deepening cultural understanding. Through these immersive experiences, friendships will flourish and the bonds between China and Georgia will shine brighter along the paths of Silk Road civilizations.
