《My campus life》

After receiving the college acceptance letter, I was extremely curious about my college life. I looked up a lot of information about our university on the Internet and have a general understanding about my university. So far, I have learned and lived in my university--Taiyuan University of Technology for almost one year.
When I enter the campus for the first time, I was attract to the architecture with mild color and the gorgeous library in the center. It is more beautiful than the photos on the Internet. As a freshman, everything felt new and overwhelming. The sprawling campus, with its majestic buildings and bustling crowd, was like a maze waiting to be explored. It took me several days to familiarize myself with the campus with the help of maps. However, I was occasionally lost when I went to the teaching building(I was confused by similar names of the buildings:“XING SI，XING ZHI，XING YUAN，XING YI，XING MIAN").
In the university, I had countless opportunities for personal growth.There are various clubs and organizations in the university. I was eager to join and had many interviews.At first, the questions was difficult for me to reflect and I couldn’t answer perfectly. As a consequence, I was rejected for many time.However, I successfully join a organization which I like. I learn about my work tasks; I started to learn typography that I had never encountered before; I hone my writing skills and learn to write tweets. Gradually, tweets with my signature were posted on the school’s official public account. In addition, I joined the choir, organized and participate in many volunteer activities. Now,when I have interviews,I don’t feel nervous and I can answer the questions fluently and confidently. I am satisfied with my progress and I know there still have many things to do.
Apart from these activities for personal growth, the academic study also play an important role in my college life. I am major in English and Russian, as a student who never know about Russian before.It is really a challenge for me to learn a new language. The rigorous grammar and complex words annoyed me a lot. During the final week, I always spent many days learning it in the library. Although it is still difficult for me to master this language, I will learn continuously. I got satisfying score after two terms and gain the scholarship.
One of the most rewarding aspects of university is the chance to learn from exceptional teachers. My teachers are very professional,they taught me a lot and give me some enlightenment. Their guidance and expertise broaden my horizons. They encourage me to think critically and defy fallacy. When I participated in the school work-study program, I assisted the counselor to work. While exercising my skills, I gained a lot of guidance and help on the future of the university life.
As an important part of college life, making friends has brought me a lot. I have met diverse students from different provinces and backgrounds, I get well along with them and help each other in many aspects. I learned the rule of compromise and adaptability. I received greatly support from them, I appreciate what they do for me and I’d like to nurtured lifelong friendships with them.
One year has passed, this year in my college life, there are joy and sadness, there are frustration and achievements. However, each experience shaped me into a resilient and determined person.I will continue to work hard to enrich my campus life.
