Peking University Move-In Day Kicks Off 2021-22 School Year

September 1 the move-in day of Peking University, saw the Class of 2025 arriving on campus, kicking off the new academic year. Among all the buzz and excitement, the incoming students got registered at PKU's Khoo Teck Puat Sports Complex with their schools and colleges.

PKU Council Chair Qiu Shuiping and PKU President Hao Ping were on the scene, expressing their warm welcomes to the newest batch of Pekingers.

"It's a very fresh and amazing experience," said Teng Rong, a first-year student from the School of Physics. "I do feel the campus is a combination of natural scenery and Chinese culture."

For the upcoming semesters, Rong said that she's looking forward to experiencing all kinds of club activities. "I'm quite interested in the hip-hop dance, as the FL Crew club have won a good reputation. But I also want to try something I've never experienced before," she said.

Speaking about the enrollment service and protection measures against the epidemic threat, Xie Kaihuai from the School of Electronics Engineering and Computer Science said that the service is careful and excellent in all respects. "You can find volunteers everywhere so you won't get lost. The workflow is quite efficient and the protection measures are great."

Seniors and working staff from various departments are there to provide a reliable service towards all the newcomers, making them feel at home.

Apart from bubbly mascots greeting the newbies, live performances are also being held.

It's the first day of school, a day to say goodbye, and to say hello.
